First Grade
Wyndcroft first graders have a productive and exploratory year! They evolve into independent readers, creative writers, critical thinkers, and cooperative problem solvers. The students' individual needs are met through differentiated instruction in all subject areas. The children work collaboratively in small and large groups throughout the day. Technology supports and enhances all the subject areas. Students are also given the encouragement and opportunity to speak in front of small and large audiences during the school year. First graders attend specials twice during a six-day rotating schedule: Art, Technology Integration, French, Music, Physical Education, Science, Library, and Health class. Students' intellectual, social-emotional, and physical development is nurtured so that they may reach their highest potential. Our first graders thrive in the warm and flexible environment in which they learn and grow.
