Welcome to Wyndcroft!

Staying true to the mission of the school, our early childhood program provides children with the foundations of an outstanding education in a safe, nurturing environment. In a warm, inviting classroom, a primary teacher and aide introduce readiness skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Children learn through a variety of methods, including large group instruction at Circle Time, small group instruction of 5-8 students, worksheets, finger plays, craft making, baking, singing, and game playing. Children also go to a weekly French class midway through the year. This introduction to academics, special enrichment, and individual attention in a small classroom setting allow each child to establish a firm foundation for a happy and successful future.

Parents have many family-friendly options within the early childhood program. They may have their child attend for three mornings each week (Tuesday through Thursday) or a full five sessions. As children experience school and mature, parents may wish to switch from three-day enrollment to five-day. Parents may choose to have their child stay for Lunch Bunch, which ends at 1 p.m. In addition, there is an Extended Day Program of activities for those early childhood students and prekindergarteners who are ready for a full day of activities. This program is led by the prekindergarten teachers. Enrollment in Lunch Bunch and Extended Day is open daily, and parents can choose from these options as best suits their schedule. Some children attend Extended Day activities on a daily basis, but others attend on a more flexible schedule.
