Posted 01/29/2010 03:11PM

Wyndcroft students celebrated the French language and culture with special presentations during this annual event. Students worked very hard from November to January to prepare for the Fete. During the Lower School Chapel, students in first through fourth grade presented wonderful French songs and poems pertaining to the four seasons. The Upper School Chapel included a presentation of French monuments by the fifth grade. The sixth grade performed historical skits about the Storming of the Bastille prison and King Louis XVI and his wife, la tres belle Marie Antoinette. The seventh grade recited the French Pledge of Allegiance and sang the Marseillaise. The eighth grade entertained all with skits of Survivor France and French Jeopardy. Fourth grade students created posters that were entered in the American Association of Teachers of French National Poster Contest. Wyndcroft students received three honorable mention and a 2nd and 3rd place award. Special lunch menus and French games were also enjoyed by students during the celebration. Enthusiasm for the French language and culture was apparent by students, faculty and staff.
