Wyndcroft & Pottsgrove Area School District
Did you know that The Wyndcroft campus straddles the Pottstown and Pottsgrove School Districts? Because of its close proximity to these districts, many of Wyndcroft students come from these areas. Busing is provided to and from Wyndcroft for residents of the area through the Pottsgrove School District.
As a part of their Non Sibi community service during the school year, Wyndcroft regularly supports Relay for Life of Pottstown. The event is held annually at the Pottsgrove High School. Whether they make luminaries or donate the proceeds from the Spring Dance, Wyndcroft always makes Relay for Live of Pottstown a priority in our Non Sibi (community service) projects.
Pottsgrove Fun Fact
The Pottsgrove School District is home to the historic Sunnybrook Ballroom, located just down the road from Wyndcroft. Sunnybrook is one of the few remaining dance halls of the pre-World War II era that is still in existence. It began as a swimming club in 1926. In 1931, after the depression, the ballroom was constructed. During the big band era of the 1930’s and 1940’s the ballroom rose to prominence as one of the country’s great dance floors. Throughout the heyday of big band music, the historic ballroom was a regular stop on the tours of all of the era’s big bands. Benny Goodman, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra are just a few of the names of nationally known performers who filled the room with the music of the era.
