Meet the Teacher: Mrs. Griffaton

Melissa Griffaton has been teaching lower school students full-time at Wyndcroft since 2009, but she was a substitute teacher here before that.

Why do you like teaching at Wyndcroft?

We are an educational community. As a teacher I know the children from EC to 8th grade.

What is your favorite Wyndcroft tradition?

Pre-K Thanksgiving Chapel

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

I'm kind of the crazy teacher, in a good way. I'm good-humored and I like to make learning fun and relevant to children. I learn about each and everyone of my students as they learn academically from me.

What impresses you about Wyndcroft students?

Their poise in front of an audience. I love to see the confidence build from Pre-K at the Thanksgiving chapel to 8th grade at graduation with their speeches.

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

Mistakes are a ok! It is what helps you learn. Don't take things so seriously at such a young age. Have fun exploring and learning new things.
