Dana Mullen has been teaching Second Grade at Wyndcroft since 2016.
Why do you like teaching at Wyndcroft?
I love the fact that I have the freedom to be the kind of teacher I have always dreamed of... I can be creative in my classroom, silly with my students, yet guide them with a firm hand and inspire them to think outside the box within every discipline. It is an incredible gift to be a part of their lives and their educational journey.
What is your favorite Wyndcroft tradition?
My favorite Wyndcroft tradition is our motto of NON SIBI... I truly appreciate that we instill the value in our students to do for others and not for oneself. They take it as seriously as the faculty does, and more importantly, they take it with them beyond these walls which is our ultimate goal.
What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
My training in Responsive Classroom helps shape the learning experience of my students so that they feel safe, respected and valued on a daily basis.
What impresses you about Wyndcroft students?
What impresses me most about our students is their ability to care for one another. They go out of their way to help one another, build one another up and be intentionally kind to one another.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
I want my students to gain the knowledge that learning and school are FUN! That you can laugh and learn at the same time. SILLY--school is laughing and learning y'all!
