Madame Ida Fauth has been teaching Wyndcroft’s Early Learning and Lower School students the French language since 1996.
Why do you like teaching at Wyndcroft?
Wyndcroft has the best community of families, students, faculty and staff. I love being a part of it! It is especially fun right now because I am both a teacher and a grandparent, so I get to experience Wyndcroft from many sides.
What is your favorite Wyndcroft tradition?
My favorite Wyndcroft tradition is the French Fete of course! Getting to work with our youngest learners and seeing them have enough confidence in the French language to get up on stage and showcase it to their family and friends is the highlight of my year, every year. I’m so proud of what they accomplish!
What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I love to travel around the world and have studied French in Montpellier, France. In my class, we not only study the French language, but a bit of culture as well. I am able to bring my experiences from other countries to my students in the form of first-hand knowledge about the people we are studying.
What impresses you about Wyndcroft students?
Wyndcroft students have a wonderful enthusiasm for learning. With French being the language most often used in culture and international communications, I love that I am giving my students the opportunity to use their enthusiasm for learning in so many different areas.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
I love to teach my students about the many different countries and cultures around the world that speak French. I hope that when they leave my classroom they have built a respect for the many different people around the world with whom they now share a language.
