Wyndcroft Teacher Stories: Meet Mrs. Harrison

Mrs. Angi Harrison has been a faculty member at Wyndcroft since 1998.

She taught EC in the morning with Pat Kolarz and then Lower School Science in the afternoons for 2 years. She now teaches Lower School Science full-time. Mrs. Harrison has been the student council advisor for the last 10 + years. She is currently the Cross Country Coach, but during her time here, she has coached sports in all three seasons.

Why do you like teaching at Wyndcroft?

The students of course! They want to be here and they want to learn. Their joy of accomplishing something for the first time is just truly gratifying and makes it all worth it.

What is your favorite Wyndcroft tradition?

Grandparents Day - it makes me happy.

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

The resilience I have had to learn from becoming an athlete as I have gotten older. Kind of the reverse of how people think. Resilience is one thing every teacher needs in order to meet the needs of his/her students in their classrooms.

What impresses you about Wyndcroft students?

Their work ethic and how they keep ties to the school once they graduate. They understand that we really do care about them and want the best for them, not just when they are here within the walls of Wyndcroft, but even as they move into the "real" world. I love to hear from and see the amazing accomplishments of our graduates.

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

That you can be serious when the situation calls for it, but remember to let your inner child out once in a while and be silly, dance in the rain, and laugh often.
