Five MORE Tips for Remote Learning

As #wyndcroftremotelearning is now set to continue through the end of the school year, here are five more tips to make sure you are making the most of this experience.

Get up. Get dressed.

It may seem fun to stay in your pajamas all day long, but getting dressed is an essential part of getting in the right mindset for the day. With very few exceptions, you wouldn’t go to school in your pajamas, so you shouldn’t go to #wyndcroftremotelearning in your pajamas either.

Breathe in the fresh air.

While it is not encouraged to leave your home during this time, this doesn’t mean that you can’t get outside. Short walks (while practicing social distancing) or just time on your back porch is good for you! Breathe in the fresh air. Get some sun on your face. Even if just for a few minutes, you will be glad that you did!

Hint: While you are out there, you can even take some time to do some gardening or fix up your outdoor space. Use what private outdoor space you have as an extension of your home to expand your living area.

Stay hydrated.

This may sound like a simple one, but it is easy to forget to stay hydrated when you are at home. That doesn’t mean drinking soda or juices, it means actually having a glass of water a few times a day. Drinking water helps to keep your body strong.

Keep a balanced plate.

Watch what you are putting on your plate and make sure you are getting a good, balanced diet. It might sound like fun to sit around and eat junk food all day but you won’t feel good if you do. Instead concentrate on filling your plate with healthy, balanced meals.

Celebrate!

Even if it isn’t a holiday, there is always time (and reason) for celebration. Did you learn something new? Try a new recipe? Was the weather especially lovely? Whatever it is, no matter how big or small, find a reason to celebrate and smile! Share that celebration with others. Let them know what made you happy today and ask them what made them smile. This is a great was to encourage positive communication - and you can always find a reason to party!
